Generac 6922 Review – Make Sure It Will Live Up To Your Expectations

Generac 6922 2800 PSI 2.4 GPM Pressure Washer

Generac pressure washers are well respected and the 6922 model seems to be one of most well built in this price range. It can be a good solution for those who need a unit for home deck or driveway cleaning. Read on to see if the Generac 6922 is a smart investment for you.

As with the 6921 and 6923 models, the Generac 6922 runs on a gasoline powered engine. At a glance, nothing special here. Manufactured by Generac, the OHV horizontal engine comes with manual choke and starting mechanism. Engine displacement is 196cc, larger than its competitive models, and has a fuel capacity of 3.2 qt. The first engine oil supply is included in the box.

An axial cam pump creates high pressure water output. Generally, this type of pump is good for 60-150 hours of use. Rated at 2800 PSI, 2.4 GPM, customer feedback suggests that this unit offers great cleaning power for use around the home and garden. The Generac 6596 offers a slightly better cleaning power. That said, the 6596 is not a CARB compliant model.

Four nozzles with quick change feature are included in the box to accommodate different jobs. The low pressure nozzle, for instance, is ideal for cleaning a wood fence. The 40 degree nozzle would work fine for vehicles. For general cleaning purpose, use the green one. A narrow spray nozzle is also shipped with the pressure cleaner.

This model comes equipped with a 1/2 gallon detergent tank. This is one main difference between this model and the Generac 6921 other than the psi. The soap attachment provides a better flexibility in uses. The hose that comes with the unit is 25 ft long, pretty standard for this class of machine.

At 57 lbs (25.85 kg), toting it up and down the stairs would not be a big challenge. The handles are high enough which is a good thing for taller people. The 10″ never flat wheels allow for easy maneuverability.

The feedback for this product has generally been very positive. Most owners posting to have awarded the 2.4 GPM pressure washer with either 4 or 5 stars.

Not everything about this product is positive. Some people prefer a faster spin head to four tips with different spray patterns. Further, there is no psi regulator. For this feature, have a look at the OneWash Residential 6602 that lets you adjust the intensity of the spray with a single control.

Despite some negative comments, the majority of the reviewers have found that the Generac 6922 is a good washer for the money.

In terms of cleaning power, understand that the Generac 6922 is a household grade pressure washer. If you plan to wash a second story wall or to strip paint, then be prepared to spend extra $$$ to get a commercial grade pressure washer. However, for applications such as cleaning driveway or washing the house siding, this 2800 PSI power washer deserves a serious consideration.

Many people have also commented that this model starts easily on the first or second pull of the rope. Assembly is straight forward. The lightweight design is another characteristic of this product that the reviewers appreciate. The controls, including on/off, choke, and fuel shutoff are all in a single location. The hose connector is easy to access.

Clearly, the majority of the reviewers have been very pleased with the quality and performance of this machine. No product can meet the needs of everyone. However, based on the customer feedback, the Generac 6922 is one of the best choices for a household grade pressure washer.
